#1 - Bruce is a seasoned leadership development professional, leveraging a distinguished career as the Director of Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s STEM Leadership Development Program. With a remarkable 92 percent pre-graduation career placement and a 100 percent graduation rate, the program, under his guidance, has twice received the prestigious Delyte Morris Award for Excellence in Community Service. Drawing from 10 years of industrial experience in automotive and defense, coupled with 25 years of teaching in project management and leadership, Bruce brings a wealth of expertise to his role, consulting with universities and companies to enhance organizational and leadership talent development. As a Ph.D. holder in Workforce Education and Development, former Editor of the ASQ’s Quality Management Forum, and a Fellow with the American Society for Quality, Bruce combines academic rigor with practical industry insights, making him a sought-after partner for transformative leadership solutions. 

#3 - As the Director of Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s distinguished STEM Leadership Development Program and a seasoned professor in the College of Engineering, and the College of Business, Bruce blends a decade of industrial experience in the automotive and defense sectors and a quarter-century of teaching and training in team building and leadership, making him a sought-after consultant specializing in organizational and leadership talent development. His multifaceted background includes serving as the Vice President of the Shawnee Health Service Board of Directors, and he is recognized for his experience as the Editor of the ASQ’s Quality Management Forum. Bruce is an experienced leadership development professional with a distinguished set of professional credentials, including being a Certified Facilitator of The Leadership Challenge®, a Certified Coach in the CliftonStrengths® model, and a Ph.D. holder in Workforce Education and Development. With an extensive quality management background, he holds the title of Fellow with the American Society for Quality, and he is recognized as an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, and a Certified Quality Engineer, ensuring a comprehensive and proven approach to enhancing leadership and organizational effectiveness. 

 

 Outside 

In his free time, Bruce enjoys spending time with his family exercising, playing golf, and canoeing. As an Assistant Scout Master he stays young by keeping up with the young campers.
